Naval Staff, Seven Others Abducted In Akwa Ibom Hotel 


"Eight individuals, including a Naval Rating, have been abducted in Ibaka, Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The incident occurred on Monday night at Classic Point Hotel, Ibaka, where gunmen forcefully took the victims to an undisclosed location, News360 Nigeria reports

Confirming the incident Tuesday, Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State Command, Timfon John, said, “When the police got the information, Commissioner of Police, CP Waheed Ayilara, led a team of security personnel to the community.

“I can assure you that with that visit by the CP and other strategic approaches normalcy will return.”

The Naval authority in Akwa Ibom are yet to speak on the development which is coming days after a bus driver and 18 passengers leaving Uyo to Port Harcourt, Rivers state were abducted with whereabout yet to be established.
